About
Dayalbagh Educational Institute, deemed to be a University, has passed a long journey to become what they are today. The foundation of this institution in 1917, REI, Radhasoami Educational Institute, was the first step in the establishment. It consisted of a Middle School, (later became a degree school in 1947). Then in 1927, Technical School was founded which is now a college. In 1930, Prem Vidyalaya was established, a girls’ school, that is now an intermediate college. In 1973, Dayalbagh Educational Institute was registered, and in 1973 it got the status of Deemed to be University, by the Ministry of Education & Culture (University Grants Commission Act 3 of 1956).
Later, various distance education programs were offered to the students and many centers were established in various states and cities. In 2004, it established the Distance Education Centre, DIE-ICT at, MTV Puram, Tamil Nadu & Soami Nagar, and New Delhi. In 2009, the DIE-ICT center was established at Rajaborari-Timarni (MP). In 2010, (technology park) a Quantum-Nano System Centre was established. Later, in 2011, the Distance Education Centre, DEI-ICT, in Bangalore was established along with the Centre for Consciousness Studies.
